One more thing

Okay, I'm almost done with my political rantings (for now...hey, I've been apolitical on here for a while), but someone posted this to Facebook and I totally agree. I left out in the last post that, if this mission had gone wrong, there's no question that Obama would have gotten all the blame. I'm not even expecting him to get all the credit, just a little bit. Bush can't take this one. (I tend to think Bush would have decided to bomb the shit out of the place, for one.) Instead of sharing it on Facebook and assaulting everyone's news feed, I'm posting it here! Lucky you.

I am surprised at how little I've had to deal with stupid people. Which is probably for the best. And because I don't watch the news, I read it online. Still, I like this post!

Whoever was in office the day the military walked in and said, "We've got him. May we proceed?" would have said, "Yes." Well, Bush probably would have said, "Hell, yeah!" It's all the same. That's the thing about military. You can move the top guys around a little, but the truth is - they are all about the same, bottom to top. You tell them to do something - they do it. No alterative suggestions are permitted. They volunteer to live that life so that the rest of us won't be called upon to live it.

And the problem with people always wanting to assign blame isn't really just government thing. Everyone wants to blame someone anytime ANYTHING goes wrong. Part of me believes that this is a side effect of our country's insurance companies. Don't laugh. I really do. Partly. But, as for government, I find that the Presidents get more than their share of both praise and blame, because no one even scrutinizes the other MANY members of our national government. I think that is dangerous. We have time to quibble about Obama's citizenship, but no one is even watching to see if the Congress or Supreme Court Justices are even law abiding citizens!

Anyway, the military has carried out a long standing order. Good for them. Following that, diplomacy is needed. It is there that we shall find the contributions of those in office.

So. Yeah. That was me mostly agreeing with you, except on minor detail-y type stuff. :P
